PRADA X James Jean

James Jean嚴格說來應該是插畫家，但是他畫了不少漫畫封面，屢屢得獎(美式漫畫的特色之一就是一本薄薄的漫畫書，有編劇，封面插畫，構圖，上色…一堆人分工)
James Jean 的基本功很扎實，畫風魔幻極具個人特色，除了漫畫封面之外其他領域的插畫作品也不少，他的畫也很有純藝術質感，所以也常開畫展在美國藝術界頗受矚目喔～！
不過讓我發現他是出生於台灣到是個意外的驚喜…

Trembled Blossoms / PRADA X James Jean 時尚創世紀

PRADA在官網放上08年春夏的形象廣告Trembled Blossoms，這支以動畫呈現的廣告是PRADA與美國知名插畫家James Jean合作的成果，音樂方面則找來了出身於紐約崛起於法國的姐妹花CocoRosie(台灣翻譯為「奇幻姐妹花」)擔任配樂和作詞。

故事從蜂鳥琢破一朵神秘的花開始，接著在白色的大地上便誕生了貌似伊甸園夏娃的女子，女夏娃穿上由甲蟲變成的PRADA高跟鞋，(出賣靈魂的開始！？)摘下枝頭的蘋果輕咬一口之後，華麗的森林便因此而展開，女子在森林中穿上PRADA新一季的時裝，並在遇見羊頭人身牧神的同時，收下從魚變成的PRADA包，隨後落花如雨般飄下，牧神復又變回開頭那朵花，蜂鳥並從PRADA包中飛出，完成了一段絢麗神秘的時尚創世紀。

這次與PRADA合作的插畫家James Jean是一位在台灣出生的美國人，2001年畢業於紐約的School of Visual Arts，之後隨即成為DC Comics的封面插畫家。James獲獎無數，包括Eisner awards、Harvey awards等等，並曾與Time、New York Times、Rolling Stone、 ESPN等知名媒體合作。James Jeans的作品充滿詭異與華麗的融合，作品的人物多少帶有點純真的臉龐，但同時也融入陰暗詭譎的畫面風格中。他的作品給我的感覺很像是一場美麗的惡夢，充滿魔幻的神祕想像，在許多畫作中也可以看出他大量使用新藝術的元素─扭曲流動的曲線、細緻的花草工筆。與PRADA合作的短片中，拿掉了一些陰暗詭譎的風格，保留了華麗並加入鮮豔的色彩的同時，也延續James作品中充滿魔幻的想像力。
